The College of Sound Healing Practitioner Training with the Voice (CoSH) ® is taught over a year and in 5 weekend modules.

PREREQUISITES: It is helpful if participants have had some experience of healing and voice work, musicianship is not required, just a willingness to connect to your voice and sound. It is important that you are in reasonable health both mentally and physically. Please contact me to discuss if you are uncertain.

The five modules will take you on a journey through this ancient form of voice healing, giving you an understanding of how to use Sound and your voice for your own wellbeing and how to administer it to others. This core training primarily uses the Voice and Tuning Forks.

Additional instruments can be explored within the two additional workshops required as part of the training.

PART ONE serves as an introduction to using the voice for healing, and helps the participant connect to their voice with breathing techniques and exercises. It should be noted that a musical background is not required for this training, just a willingness to connect to the voice and sound it!

FROM PART TWO students will need to become student members of the College in order to gain insurance to carry out case studies. It will also be necessary to purchase C and G Tuning Forks at this stage.

The course is a balance of theory and practical.

WHERE: All modules will be held at St Martin’s Hall in Saltdean, East Sussex. The venue is a church hall with dedicated use for the participants, during the course. Saltdean is a beautiful seaside resort with the sea ten minutes walk away from the hall and the fields/downs five minutes walk away. The iconic Saltdean Lido is ten minutes walk away and has swimming facilities that need prior booking. Parking is available in surrounding streets. Tea, biscuits, and fruit will be provided, please bring lunch – there is a fridge available. Bring blankets, pillows, slippers, notepad, pens, and pencils.

The training is non-residential. There are several local BnBs.

A non-residential course set In a peaceful rural location, approximately half an hour from Lincoln towards the coast, the investment for each weekend is £220, payable 4 weeks before the date. A deposit of £80 will secure your place.

We will start each day at 10am, finishing at 5pm on the Saturday and 4pm on the Sunday. There will be short breaks in the morning and afternoon with approximately an hours lunch time.

You will need to bring a packed lunch-hot drinks and biscuits will be provided.

This experientially-based certified practitioner course in Sound Healing, incorporates ancient wisdom as well as modern advances in the application of sound as a healing treatment. Once complete you will be able to offer treatments in sound to clients as well as use the tools and techniques for your own healing journey. No previous experience is necessary.

The course comprises five non-residential modules taken over 12 months.

Gently discover the power of your voice and it's connection with all that is as you learn to use it for the benefit of self and others in this comprehensive practitioner course.  Successful graduation will result in your accreditation as a professional sound healer.  The Core Curriculum comprises five weekend workshops taken over 12 months.  

Situated in a beautiful valley on the White Esk River, just a stone's throw from the Kagyu Samye Ling Tibetan Monastery and the stone circle of Loupin Staines, the Eskdalemuir Hub is perfect for a course such as this. We have been invited to work in the cosy but ample gallery space, complete with it's log burner and thoughtfully designed acoustics.  

In keeping with the COSH price structure for the course, the cost for each weekend workshop will be £220 (total £1100), due four weeks before each weekend.  An £80 deposit will secure your place. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a pillow and blanket.  Light refreshments will be provided but you will need a packed lunch for each day of the course.  Alternatively you can buy a lovely meal in the adjoining community café at a subsidised price. 

All weekends will run at the following times: Sat: 10am - 5pm;  Sun: 10am - 4pm.

This is a non-residential course, but information can be provided on local accommodation options, including at Samye Ling Monastery which is 1.2 miles away (3 mins by car, 20 mins on foot). This transformational course is a deep dive into sound and the voice. The weekends are both experiential and theoretical, delivered over a year.

It is helpful for participants to have some experience of healing and voice work, but not essential. A willingness to explore your voice is all that is required. 

The course will invite you on a journey of self-discovery through the ancient practise of Sound Healing, giving you tools for your own healing journey and techniques to offer clients.

VENUE: Peasmarsh Memorial Hall is in the centre of Peasmarsh, approximately 8 minutes from the beautiful historic town of Rye in East Sussex. There is ample free parking at the hall.

The College of Sound Healing Gong Practitioner Training Course© is a CMA-certificated training programme over five weekends, over the period of one year. This comprises 70 hours formal training, plus practise, coursework, reading and mentoring in-between sessions. Completing this course gives you the information, knowledge, tools and qualification - acceptable anywhere in the world - to be a Gong Practitioner able to treat clients in a therapeutic setting both on a one-to-one basis or in groups.

The Course was written for the College by Sheila Whittaker, who is the senior College Gong tutor, and advisor to the College on all matters gong-related. ​ The world of the Gong and its use for healing is a fascinating and relatively little-known subject. This Course aims to bring together and impart as much relevant knowledge and wisdom, ancient and new, as is possible in the time allotted for the Course. Some of this knowledge was lost in the mists of time and has been rediscovered during the last century. The Gong teachings are extensive and need time for participants to assimilate. This is best done in a Course run over the period of a year, to allow more comfortable integration of the powerful energies involved. Participants are guided throughout the Course by an experienced, caring, supportive tutor, and encouraged to do their own reading and studies between sessions to further promote their training.

Steph only takes a certain number of students on the Course each year, so that she has the time and opportunity to mentor each one individually.

Students are allotted coursework and case studies between the formal sessions to enable them to practise working with clients, thus honing their skills and techniques, and gaining confidence and expertise before they venture into the world to offer their services professionally. There is a short written exam at the end.

Doing the Course over the period of a year also enables the participants to embark on their own healing journey with the gongs - to do their own inner emotional and self development work - so that they can clear much of their own "stuff" and clear their own energy vibration before they start to treat others. This is essential when you are working in a therapeutic capacity - we need to be able to provide a strongly held safe, supportive space for our clients, and know that when the gongs inevitably do their clearing work during a gong bath, that we can be fully present to support clients in their healing process.

Each participant will need to have the use of their own gong by the 2nd weekend session. Guidance on choice of gong will be given during Session 1.

Price - £290 per session (£1450 in total) A deposit of £100 secures your place on the course, with the balance for Session 1 and each of the remaining Sessions due a month beforehand.

Location - The course is held in the rural, peaceful and beautiful Treflach Farm, near Oswestry on the English Welsh border.  Not just a magical space, but a working farm and community hub, there is free parking and plenty of outside space for reflection in nature. 

This course is not residential, but there is some accommodation available on the farm, including rooms, glamping and camping (tents and vans).

Hot drinks are included, but please bring a packed lunch.  ​

Stonegate Village Hall is a light, quiet hall in the rural hamlet of Stonegate, East Sussex.

There is plenty of parking at the venue but no shops or pubs. Ticehurst is the nearest village.

Please bring whatever you need for light refreshemnts on Saturday and YOUR LUNCH ON SUNDAY. A variety of teas, coffee, cows's milk and nibbles are provided.

There is easy access by road from the A21 or by train from Charing Cross to Tunbridge Wells. It's a rural location and you would need to organise transport in advance from rail stations. It's not advisable to walk the 1.2 miles from Stonegate station to the venue as there is neither a pavement nor street lighting on the busy road.

THE COURSE IS NON RESIDENTIAL - for accommodation please use you favourite accommodation finder. The nearby villages are Wadhurst, Ticehurst, Burwash & Mayfield. Tunbridge Wells is about a 30 minute drive.

The Gong Practitioner Training is a certified training programme run over 6 weekends including a graduation weekend,over the period of one year. It comprises 70 hours formal training, plus practice, coursework, reading and mentoring between sessions. Completing this course gives you the information, knowledge, tools and qualification - acceptable anywhere in the world -to be a Gong Practitioner able to treat clients in a therapeutic setting both on a 1-2-1 and group basis.

Course timings are : Saturday 2-6pm and Sunday 10-6pm.

The Studio at Splatthayes is situated in Buckerell, a quiet picturesque Devon village near Honiton. As well as being a workshop venue Splatthayes also provides bed and breakfast. They have four bedrooms available and other B & B accommodation is easily found within a few miles - ask Sheila for a B & B list.
The College of Sound Healing Gong Practitioner Training Course© is an in-person CMA-certificated training programme over five weekends, over the period of one year. This comprises 70 hours formal training, plus practise, coursework, reading and mentoring in-between sessions. Completing this course gives you the information, knowledge, tools and qualification - acceptable anywhere in the world - to be a Gong Practitioner able to treat clients in a therapeutic setting both on a one-to-one basis or in groups. The Course was written for the College by Sheila, who is the senior College Gong tutor, and advisor to the College on all matters gong-related. ​
The world of the Gong and its use for healing is a fascinating and relatively little-known subject. This Course aims to bring together and impart as much relevant knowledge and wisdom, ancient and new, as is possible in the time allotted for the Course. Some of this knowledge was lost in the mists of time and has been rediscovered during the last century. The Gong teachings are extensive and need time for participants to assimilate. This is best done in a Course run over the period of a year, to allow more comfortable integration of the powerful energies involved.
Participants are guided throughout the Course by Sheila - an experienced, caring, supportive teacher - along with her assistant Pauline McCrann. Students are encouraged to do their own reading and studies between sessions to further promote their training. Sheila only takes a certain number of students on the Course each year, so that she has the time and opportunity to mentor each one individually. Students are allotted coursework and case studies between the formal sessions to enable them to practise working with clients, thus honing their skills and techniques, and gaining confidence and expertise before they venture into the world to offer their services professionally. There is a short exam/verbal presentation at the end.
Doing the Course over the period of a year also enables the participants to embark on their own healing journey with the gongs - to do their own inner emotional and self development work - so that they can clear much of their own "stuff" and clear their own energy vibration before they start to treat others. This is essential when you are working in a therapeutic capacity - we need to be able to provide a strongly held safe, supportive space for our clients, and know that when the gongs inevitably do their clearing work during a gong bath, that we can be fully present to support clients in their healing process.
Each participant will need to have the use of their own gong by the 2nd weekend session. Guidance on choice of gong will be given during Session 1.
In recent years Sheila has trained other gong tutors, based in different areas of the UK and Ireland, to teach the College's Gong Practitioner Course. All the COSH gong tutors cover the same information and training content during the Course; however the Course schedule may differ slightly between individual tutors from Session to Session. For this reason it is recommended to stay with the same tutor for the entirety of the Course.
Tuition Fees for the 2024-25 Gong Practitioner Course going forward will be £290 per session, totalling £1450 for the full Course. A non refundable deposit of £100 will secure your place on the Course. Course times are Sat & Sun 10am - 5pm each day.

Taught at The Harmony Hub in Lancashire, this course is located just off the M6 and M61 motorways and is accessible by rail and coach. There is ample free car parking opposite the venue.  

Though the course is non-residential, affordable accommodation is available nearby. Lunches and other daytime refreshments are included in the course costs.

The course tutor has over 30 years experience of teaching in a variety of settings and you will experience a range of styles and approaches to enable you to gain the very best from this course. To maximise learning and meet individual needs, course numbers will be small and you will be offered individual support and mentoring throughout.

Coursework and case studies are required between the formal taught sessions. This enables students to develop skills and techniques and to grow in confidence and competence. Full support is provided by the tutor who also fosters a supportive ethos, encouraging students to support one another.

This Course was written for the College by Sheila Whittaker, who is the senior College Gong Tutor, and advisor to the College on all gong-related matters. ​ 

Working with the Gong is a powerful personal journey. The various learning and experience opportunities require time for students to assimilate. As this course is taught over a year, each student is able to learn and develop at their own pace. The non-rushed nature of this course also supports students on their own individual Healing journey with the Gong. Clearing our own emotional baggage and raising vibration is a prerequisite for helping others to do so and you will be fully supported as you undertake that challenging but deeply rewarding inner work.

Each participant will need access to their own Gong by the 2nd weekend and support in selecting the best Gong for you will be given during Session 1.

Price - £290 per session (£1450 in total) A deposit of £100 secures your place on the course, with the balance for Session 1 and each of the remaining Sessions due a month beforehand.
