GONG BATH MEDITATION

DETAILS : Experience the profound healing and deep relaxation with the sounds of the gongs and other percussion instruments, in this sound meditation with Masha at The Sand and Sound Centre in Glossop, occasionally at other venues.
WHAT TO BRING
Bring something comfortable to lie on (sleeping bag, folded up duvet etc), a blanket and a pillow, so that you can make a cosy "nest" for yourself, which will help you feel relaxed and enjoy the beautiful healing sounds. It helps to have a bottle of water with you, as we need to be well-hydrated, especially after the session, in order to get the full benefits from the healing sounds.
BEFORE AND AFTER
It is best not to have any alcohol or any other mind-altering substances for 24 hours before and 24 hours after the gong bath. Try not to schedule any other appointments or tasks immediately after the gong bath meditation, as it is best to take it easy if you can, since the healing effects continue for some time afterwards.

SAND & SOUND MINI RETREAT

DETAILS : The Sand and Sound Mini Retreats offer an immersive experience into the transformational power of Sandplay and Sound. These weekends are a gentle invitation for you to play, rest, create, feel, relax, cry, laugh, be still, connect with others - but most importantly with yourself - deeply. Small groups of maximum 6 to 8 people.
The mini retreats typically start on Friday evening, and finish Sunday lunchtime (or sometimes, for bank holiday weekends, start on Saturday evening and finish Monday lunchtime).
Please note that these mini-retreats are non-residential, i.e. you will have to find and book your own accommodation in the local area (a list of possible accommodation will be provided).

*Mini Retreat Costs*
The normal cost of these mini-retreats £225 per person, but in 2021 I will be offering them at a reduced rate of £199, which can be payable in instalments. A deposit of £60 reserves your place.
Included in the cost: Light refreshments throughout the weekeend - please inform Masha of any special dietary requirements at least two weeks before the retreat date. Main meals are not provided - please bring your own packed lunch or you can buy food at local shops and cafes nearby.

Glossop is a town in North Derbyshire on the edge of Peak Distric, approximately 35 minutes on the train from the centre of Manchester (between 30min and 1 hour+ drive depending on traffic), about 45 min drive from Sheffield, 1 hour from Leeds.
If you arrive early on the first day or decide to leave later on the last day, you can take the advantage of some lovely walks in the area (we will also have two long 2 hour breaks on Sunday).

However, if you are currently feeling vulnerable, are pregnant, experiencing significant physical or mental health issues or ongoing trauma sympoms, please discuss the suitability of these retreats with Masha prior to booking. *About the Retreat Facilitator*
Masha Bennett is a UKCP registered psychotherapist, psychotherapy trainer and clinical supervisor, sandplay therapist and tutor for the Association for Integrative Sandplay Therapists, and tutor/gong practitioner with the College of Sound Healing. After her early career in zoology, botany and horticulture, she has been working with adults and young people therapeutically for about 20 years, in prisons, probation service, residential children’s homes, NHS, primary school, charities, and in private practice. Masha is a trauma specialist and has an MSc in Therapeutic Practice for Psychological Trauma from the University of Chester, she is an accredited EMDR Europe Practitioner, trainer in EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques), and also teachers courses on Trauma Awareness to professionals and general public. In her spare time Masha paints pictures, walks her two border collies and has many cups of tea in her wild woodland garden

PART ONE - AN INTRODUCTION TO SOUND HEALING WITH THE VOICE

On this Shamanic Healing Course, taken over two weekends, we will be exploring the Native American sacred wisdom and powerful healing practices based on the Lakota Sioux tradition. Learning these practices can become wonderful tools for helping us to bring to others a deeper level of healing and connection with their true self and with the Oneness of al Life around us.

This course is based on a traditional Lakota Grandfather Wallace Black Elk North Native American form of healing and lineage working with power animals and helping spirits, drumming, rattling, offering prayers and sacred chants.
You will learn various healing techniques including shamanic power animal retrieval and soul retrieval on part 1 and soul energy release; intrusion removal or extraction and rattle healing on part 2.
Shamanic Soul Retrieval enables people suffering from soul loss, which is an energetic fragmentation of the self, due to trauma, back to wholeness, through returning these lost soul fragments. Soul loss can be described as a self-mechanism to shield and protect you from the pain of trauma.
Within Shamanic practice, losing soul fragments essentially means losing your life force energy which is extremely disempowering. If the soul is not restored, the body can become so imbalanced that it causes mental, emotional, or physical disease.
During a Shamanic healing, we are either removing energy within our client that does not belong to them or we are returning energy that is outside our client that belongs within them such as their lost soul parts.
In our modern-day world, we are experiencing an epidemic of soul loss on a collective level. This may well be the cause of many of the issues that are detrimentally affecting our society today. Examples of such widespread issues include crime, disease, abusive relationships, addiction and mental health issues.
We feel more like ourselves when we are complete and whole in the present. Soul retrieval is one of the most effective Shamanic Healing methods. If you lose a soul part, it’s like a whole part of you is lost, as your split off soul part is like a holographic piece of you.
When soul loss occurs, it may cause openings and gaps in your auric field. By returning your client’s soul part, you are essentially helping to restore their auric field and repair any tears that the soul loss caused.

DETAILS : This is an introduction workshop where you will be learning about about the history of some of the major groups of crystals and their properties and their use in our everyday life. How to clear, energise and programme your crystals. We will look at using colour in our everyday life, and how colour effects us on many levels. We will also look at the chakras and energy system and the colours usually associated with them. How we can work with the chakras using crystals, sound and colour. The healing power of sound and how music can effect us on many levels. The benefits of yogic breathing and toning. The day will be a mixture of theory and practice along with group exercises which will include:- chakra balancing, cleansing the energy field, programming,ergising and cleansing crystals. Energising your drinking water with quartz crystal energy, toning, crystal bowl sounds, combining crystals, colour and sound. We will have crystals to use during the training, and there will also be some to purchase if you wish. If you have your own crystals then please bring them along. This workshop is suitable for all of you that wish to learn a little about combining crystals, colour and sound. DETAILS : This one day workshop introduces you to both Crystal Bowls and Himalayan Bowls, we look at sound healing with bowls and how it works on the physical and energetic bodies. We look at the history and different types of bowls available, how they are made and playing techniques for both types of bowls. We look at the chakras and how sound relates to the energy system, the notes and sound connected to them. There is lots of hands on with the bowls, you will do mini sessions on each other, and learn how to give a sound treatment to a family member and indeed yourself. We look at energetic protection, intention and lots more. It is a fun and interactive day.

INTRODUCTION TO WORKING WITH THE VOICE AND SOUND HEALING

DETAILS : A fun day introducing you to working with the Voice, we will work as a group over the day, learning voice warm ups, what is sound healing and how does it work on the Human Energy System. We will look a little at the Energy System and how using sound we can work using the voice to bring balance back into energy and physical body. We will be working with toning the chakras, the importance of the correct breathing patterns, and the importance of listening. We will be doing meditations, free toning, toning a persons name and the importance of grounding. We will have a great day of sounding together, no experience is required, as we will take you on a journey of using your voice for yourself and others.

DETAILS : The Crystal Bowl and Himalayan Bowl Practitioner Training is taken over three weekends with a three month period between each weekend. Completion of the training will give the participants the knowledge and tools required to become a Crystal Bowl and Himalayan Bowl Practitioner.
In Module One we will be looking at Sound Healing in general, and then start to learn and work with crystal bowls, the energy system and crystal bowls, cleansing, programming and working one-to-one as a therapy. WE will also be working with a pendulum and learning to dowse the Chakras and Energy System.
Module Two covers working with Himalayan Bowls one-to-one, we look at the different types, how they are made, playing techniques and advanced techniques and layouts. There will be plenty of practice time on this course with your fellow students.
In Module Three we will be looking at working with Groups and Sound Healing. Choosing a location, cost of venues and booking, cleansing and protecting the healing space, public awareness during sound bath, insurance. Different techniques working with various sounds, shruti box and voice during a sound bath. Advertising the event, Energy Splits and Spirals and working with people with life limiting conditions, plus lots more.
In order to be awarded a Practitioner Certificate a total of 18 case studies will need to be completed and there will be an assessment on giving a group sound bath which is covered on Part Three. As well as completing the core curriculum, students will need to complete one additional Sound Healing Workshops. Details of these workshops can be found on the Sound Healing Workshops page.
The Training Course is run in Bedfordshire it is based upon hands-on experiential training and students get support from highly experienced Tutors.

Part One can be a standalone course. You are required to attend just one of the Part One weekends before progressing to Part Two.
The College of Sound Healing Practitioner Training with the Voice (CoSH)® is taught in 5 weekend modules.
What you may need to know before you arrive:
It is helpful if participants have had some experience or knowledge of healing and voice work, you do not need to be a musician or be able to sing in tune. Please contact to me to chat about your suitability if you need any assurances that its right for you.
The five modules will take you on a journey through this ancient form of healing, giving you an understanding of how to use Sound for your own wellbeing and how to administer it to others. This core training primarily uses the Voice and Tuning Forks. Additional instruments can be explored within the two additional workshops required as part of the training.
PART ONE serves as an introduction to using the voice for healing, and helps the participant connect to their voice with breathing techniques and exercises. It should be noted that a musical background is not required for this training, just a willingness to connect to the voice and sound it!

DETAILS : The Crystal Bowl and Himalayan Bowl Practitioner Training is taken over three weekends with approximately three months between each weekend. Completion of the training will give the participants the knowledge and tools required to become a Crystal Bowl and Himalayan Bowl Practitioner.
In Module One we will be looking at Sound Healing in general, and then start to learn and work with crystal bowls, the energy system and crystal bowls, cleansing, programming and working one-to-one as a therapy.
Module Two covers working with Himalayan Bowls one-to-one, we look at the different types, how they are made, playing techniques and advanced techniques and layouts. There will be plenty of practice time on this course with your fellow students.
In Module Three we will be looking at working with Groups and Sound Healing. Choosing a location, cost of venues and booking, cleansing and protecting the healing space, public awareness during sound bath, insurance. Different techniques working with various sounds, instruments and voice during a sound bath. Advertising the event plus lots more.
In order to be awarded a Practitioner Certificate a total of 18 case studies will need to be completed and there will be an assessment on giving a group sound bath which is covered on Part Three.
As well as completing the core curriculum, students will need to complete one additional Sound Healing Workshop. Details of these workshops can be found on the Sound Healing Workshops page.
The Training Course takes place at a charming venue just outside Exeter in Devon. It is based upon hands-on experiential training and students get support from a highly experienced Tutor.

PREREQUISITES: It is helpful if participants have had some experience of healing and voice work, musicianship is not required, just a willingness to connect to your voice and sound. It is important that you are in reasonable health both mentally and physically. Please contact to discuss if you are uncertain.
The five modules will take you on a journey through this ancient form of healing, giving you an understanding of how to use Sound for your own wellbeing and how to administer it to others. This core training primarily uses the Voice and Tuning Forks.
Additional instruments can be explored within the two additional workshops required as part of the training.
PART ONE can be taken as a standalone workshop and serves as an introduction to using the voice for healing, and helps the participant connect to their voice with breathing techniques, vocal exercises, meditations, chant and more. It should be noted that a musical background is not required for this training, just a willingness to connect to the voice and sound it!
FROM PART TWO students will need to become student members of the College in order to gain insurance to carry out case studies. It will also be necessary to purchase C and G Tuning Forks at this stage.

The course is a balance of theory and practical.
WHERE: All modules will be held at the beautiful Green Door Centre in Bosham, West Sussex. The venue set in its own dedicated, peaceful grounds, with abundant country side and close to the sea. The centre is home to a mediation sanctuary, stone circle, peaceful walks and yurt. The course takes place in the hall at the centre of the venue.
The training is non-residential.

Choosing a location, cost of venues and booking, cleansing and protecting the healing space, public awareness during sound bath, insurance. Different techniques working with various sounds, instruments and voice during a sound bath. Advertising the event plus lots more.
In order to be awarded a Practitioner Certificate a total of 18 case studies will need to be completed and there will be an assessment on giving a group sound bath which is covered on Part Three.
