Drumming Practitioner Training Diploma Course

Sacred Drumming Practitioner Training - moments Sacred Drumming Practitioner Training - moments

The Drumming Practitioner Training is a diploma training course held over five weekends within the period of one year. Completion of this training will give participants the information, knowledge and tools required to become a specialist Drumming Practitioner. The course is certified by the College of Sound Healing, and is evaluated and approved by the CMA (Complimentary Medical Association) and the TSA (Therapeutic Sound Association).

The power of the drum and its use for healing is universal, wide ranging and all embracing.

This training course aims to give you the confidence to use the drum and rattle for self healing, helping others and healing your home and the Earth. Information and wisdom from other cultures are imparted to reinforce up-to-date scientific studies on the use of drum in sound healing.

In many cultures the shamanic drum is still used to help heal individuals and hold the social fabric of communities together. This course reawakens each student to this healing potential in ourselves and our society. Students are encouraged to develop through reading, study and dedicated practice a deep and personal understanding of themselves as a shamanic healer. Each student starts the course by making their own personal medicine drum and rattle.

Homework will be given after each weekend and case histories accompany each module - these all need to be completed for final certification.

Course Details

Participants will make and paint their own double-sided hoop drum and a rattle as part of the course. The cost of drum and rattle making materials will need to be paid in advance of Module One.

Course Requirements
Students will need to join the College as a Student Member (costs £40.00 for the course) and have insurance cover by the start of Module Two while they are training.

The College has a Block Insurance Scheme. The premiums are £35.50 for Student Members and £54.50 for Graduates in the UK. Students need to have insurance cover while they are undergoing the Practitioner Training. Practitioners who already have insurance cover may be able to add sound healing to their existing policy at no extra charge.

It is helpful if participants have had some experience of healing before attending the course.

Diploma Requirements
To graduate, participants must attend each module, and complete the assignments and case studies that accompany each module. Students need to join the College of Sound Healing as a Student Member, have insurance cover and a current first aid certificate. Students must also complete the additional Sound Healing Workshops.

Sound Healing Workshops
As well as completing the core curriculum students will need to complete one or two additional Sound Healing Workshops. These workshops can be taken before or during attending the core curriculum.

Students can choose from one of these options:

  • Two one day workshops (minimum 6 hours per day)
  • One weekend workshop (minimum 12 hours)
  • The College of Sound Healing Conference

Students need to do their additional Sound Healing Workshops with College Tutors or attend the College Conference. Any day or weekend workshop shown on the College web site counts as an additional Sound Healing Workshop.

Exceptions are made for students coming to do the Practitioner Training from Overseas. They can attend equivalent workshops in their own country.

Participants will be assessed on their intuitive ability to perceive the changes in the client’s energy field as a doorway into their physical, emotional and spiritual condition; and to be able to create a positive outcome for the client with drum and rattle.

At the end of the course, if participants have satisfactorily completed the practice treatments, written work and the evaluation, they will be presented with their Practitioner Diploma by the College. A fee of £20.00 will be charged by the College for the Diploma.

At Part Two of the Practitioner Training Course you will need to become a Student Member of the College. Student Membership is £40.00 and has a duration of two years, giving you plenty of time to complete your Practitioner Training.
