Only a fairly short hop by boat or hovercraft from the port of Piraeus, once there, it feels as though you're a million miles from the stresses of everyday life.

Accommodation, breakfast, and the courses take place at Rosy's Little Village, with fantastic views over the sea, towards Aegina.

WHAT IS THE RETREAT ALL ABOUT?

Here’s a chance for you to get away from it all for a week, to wake up to the beautiful Agistri dawn and enjoy the wonderful flowing forms of Dru and Integral Yoga. After breakfast, discover and learn to appreciate your voice, and how the very act of singing together can lift the soul, no matter whether you think you can sing or not. Later, free your Chi with a gentle Qi Gong session.

MORE ABOUT THE SINGING:

Joy of Song and Song Meditation:

For students on the College of Sound Healing Practitioner’s Course, this retreat counts as an additional Sound Healing workshop, required to complete the course. Certificate of attendance provided on request.

Develop better breath control and confidence with gentle, effective vocal techniques, explore harmony, learn chants, rounds and songs, allowing our song to become the focus of meditation. Explore the healing magic of the melodic weaving of our voices.

MORE ABOUT DRU YOGA

Dru Yoga is a graceful and potent form of yoga, based on flowing movements, directed breathing and visualisation. It has its roots in hatha yoga, and includes classical yoga postures, breath work, hand gestures, affirmations, visualisations and flowing, dynamic sequences. Classes are aimed to suit beginners and those with experience of Dru or any other form of yoga.

MORE ABOUT INTEGRAL YOGA

This yoga is based on the teachings of Sri Swami Satchidananada, the goal of which is to maintain our natural condition of optimum health and strength, our senses under control, a disciplined, clear, calm mind, sharp intellect, a strong yet pliable will, a heart full of unconditional love and compassion, a pure ego and a life of peace and joy. The class comprises Hatha Yoga asanas, deep relaxation, breathing, and chants to open and close the class.

MORE ABOUT THE QI GONG

This helps to warm up the body with gentle movements and to begin working with Chi. We will be practising the Tao Yin Fa Series 1 to stretch the acupuncture meridians, thereby allowing free flow of Chi along them and hence to the organs for health and wellbeing.

MORE ABOUT TRIXI (Dru Yoga, Joy of Song and Song Meditation):

Trixi believes that in our noisy, busy, hi-tech society we have become separated from the simple, healing joys of singing and music making together – an essential part of being human.

Frequently observing the healing and mood-enhancing effects of singing she was inspired to train as a sound-healing practitioner (2008) and as a tutor with the College of Sound Healing (2010). She is a fully trained teacher of Dru Yoga, a full member of the Yoga Alliance accredited Dru Professional Network and an ordinary member of the British Wheel of Yoga. She has an MA (music education), MEd, a DipLCM (pop vocals). She studied Creative Music (Orff Institute, Mozarteum, Austria) and jazz/voice/composition (Trinity College of Music, London). She is a member of the Natural Voice Practitioners’ Network and has trained in workshop leadership with Frankie Armstrong.

MORE ABOUT BHANU (Integral Yoga, Qi Gong)

Bhanu’s introduction to yoga was in 2008 when he joined an Integral yoga class, often leaving the class feeling relaxed yet energised. He attended Kirtan and Satsang sessions where the local Integral Yoga community and others would meet to watch DVDs of Swami Satchidananda offering yogic philosophy and answering questions about various life situations. Bhanu joined the Kirtan band playing drum and chanting. In 2009 he was invited to train as an Integral Yoga teacher and qualified in 2010. He has also completed a Gentle and Therapeutic Teacher Training course in London. He teaches in Whitchurch and in his home town of Ellesmere, Shropshire. He is also a fully qualified practitioner of Sound Healing, Tama Do and teacher of Qi Gong.
