Sacred Drumming Evenings

We are starting Sacred Drumming Evenings at our house 57 Chantryfield Road, Angmering, near Littlehampton BN16 4DH. Cost £5

The first night is Monday 12th October at 7.30-9.30, after this we will be having them as a regular event on every second Monday evening of the month.

This is the time to beat the drum, find your rhythm, strengthen your vision and gently build a community. We have drums to borrow.

Each month we will build a medicine wheel and drum towards discovering where we fit into each of the sacred directions.

There will also be a Gong Bath healing evening for students and the public on Saturday 8th from 7-9pm at The Subud Hall in Brecon.

SOUND INSTALLATION PROJECT

At Nevill Hall Hospital, Abergavenny
Saturday October 17th - Sunday October 18th, 2009

Working with a group of volunteer vocalists drawn from people who have been working with me to use their voices for creating healing sound, I aim to create an event using voices, gongs, Tibetan singing bowls and various other instruments, that will bring a concert of sound into Nevill Hall Hospital. However this event will not take the form of a usual concert. It will be more akin to a promenade performance.

In my work with the Sound Installation I am aiming to offer a deep listening space where people can experience deep resonance and its effect on them. People will be invited to wander through the space in silence, and spend as little or as long as they wish in the space. Throughout the 3 hours of the event, the sounds will move between that of pure voices to the ancient sounds of gongs and singing bowls.

It is my intention to provide a piece of art that bears witness to the tenderness and compassion that human beings extend to each other every day in the work of our hospitals.

If you have worked with me on in any of my voice sound healing workshops in the past and are interested in taking part please contact me by September 9th to discuss further. Vocalists will work with me throughout the weekend of October 17th and 18th starting at 11 am on the Saturday morning to prepare for the event which will take place between 2pm and 5pm on Sunday 18th.

There is no fee to take part but there will be vegetarian catering and participants will need to pay towards this cost.

For those travelling from further away accommodation will be arranged. Some people may want to arrive on Friday. Please contact me for more details.
