Sacred Drumming Practitioner Training Curriculum

 

The Sacred Drumming Practitioner Training Training is a certificated training programme over five weekends over the period of one year. Completion of this training will give participants the information, knowledge and tools required to become a Sacred Drumming Practitioner. The course is certified by the CMA.

 
 
 

INTRODUCTION

On this course you will learn how to use the hoop drum for self-healing, for healing others, healing your home and the Earth. The Sacred Drumming Practitioner Course is being held over five weekends (Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday) within the cycle of a year.

You will start the course by making a drum and rattle. On the course you will gain a firm foundation in the history and fundamental workings of drum and rattle energy medicine. You will learn about spirit archetypes, the medicine wheel teachings, vocal awareness and sounding, drumming with nature, smudging, intuitive distance healing and ceremonial drum work.

Assignments and case histories accompany each module, these need to be completed for final certification.

The cost for the course is £875, each weekend is £175, excluding accommodation at Nash Manor and drum and rattle making materials.

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

 

To graduate, participants must have been present for each module and completed the homework for each module. Assignments and case histories that accompany each module all need to be completed for final certification.

 
 
 

COURSE INFORMATION

 

Participants will make and paint their own hoop drum and rattle as part of the course. The cost of drum and rattle making materials will need to be paid in advance of Module One. Costs depend on the drum size: 20 inch drum £95, 18 inch drum £80, 15 inch drum £65, 13 inch drum £55, 10 inch drum £45; rattle £25.

 

PREREQUISITES
It is helpful if participants have had some experience of healing before attending the course.

 

ASSESSMENT
Participants will be assessed on their intuitive ability to perceive the changes in the client's energy field to assess their condition; and to be able to create a positive outcome for the client with drum and rattle.

 

CERTIFICATE
At the end of the course, if participants have satisfactorily completed the practice treatments, written work and sound healing evaluation, they will be presented with their Sacred Drumming Practitioner's certificate by the College.

The College of Sound Healing is a Member of the Complementary Medical Association (CMA) and the Sound Therapy Association (STA). All the College's Practitioner Training Courses are evaluated and approved by the CMA and the STA.

 

COLLEGE MEMBERSHIP
Once you have completed the Sacred Drumming Practitioner Training course you will need to complete two additional Sound Healing Workshops to become a Member of the College of Sound Healing (MCSH) and the Sound Therapy Association (STA). Membership of the College of Sound Healing costs £35 per year. Student Membership costs £25 for the course.

 

ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY
Students are expected to have a knowledge of anatomy and physiology and hold a current first aid certificate.

 

CPD
After they have qualified College members are expected to do a minimum of 16 hours a year Continuing Professional Development.

 

COST
The cost is £175 per weekend workshop. The total cost of the Sacred Drumming Practitioner Training course is £875 excluding both accommodation at Nash Manor and drum and rattle making materials.

Students will need to join the College as a student member (it costs £25 for the course) and have insurance cover (£33.25) while they are training.

 

INSURANCE
The College has a Block Insurance Scheme. The premiums are £33.25 for Student Members and £49.75 for Graduates in the UK. Students need to have insurance cover while they are undergoing the Practitioner Training. Practitioners who already have insurance cover may be able to add sound healing to their existing policy at no extra charge.
