Sound has been used as a healing force for thousands of years.

"Rhythm and harmony penetrate most powerfully into the innermost part of the soul and lay forcible hands upon it, bearing grace with them, so making graceful him who is rightly trained, and him who is not, the reverse" - Plato

"The knower of the mystery of sound knows the mystery of the whole universe." - Hazrat Inayat Khan

Today we are beginning to rediscover how important sound and music are for us. Modern science now supports the ancient belief that all matter comes from vibration or sound. Physicists have found that the physical world is made up of vibrating energy.

The College of Sound Healing was established to provide the highest quality training for those people who wish to become sound healers. The College provides a comprehensive training in sound healing with highly experienced tutors. The College of Sound Healing is a non-profitmaking organisation.

Chris James leading a workshop session at our 2007 conferenceThe College offers a basic training programme that consists of four weekend workshops over a period of one year. Two additional modules are taken in the following year.

College Aims

  • • To teach sound healing courses of the highest quality
  • • To take sound healing into schools and into the community
  • • To raise awareness of the positive and negative effects of sound
  • • To encourage scientific research into sound healing.

"There will come a time when a diseased condition will not be described as it is today by physicians and psychologists, but it will be spoken of in musical terms, as one would speak of a piano that was out of tune" - Rudolf Steiner
